Walk - Everyone Welcome (12/03/16) Saturday, 12th March 2016 9:45 AM - 3:30 PM

Meet in good time for a 9.45 departure from the The Dean Ale and Cider House Midhurst Rd, West Dean, Chichester, West Sussex PO18 0QX, http://thedeaninn.co.uk/. (Explorer Map 120: SU859124). The pub is situated on the A286 midway between Midhurst and Chichester. The car par is next to the pub.

We are hopeful that the pub will be open before we start the walk, more details will be given nearer the time. We will need to order lunch before we leave on the morning of the walk.

The morning walk will be just under four miles through wooded and open country climbing up the Downs, then along to the west: weather permitting, there should be great views across to the sea. Our return includes one steep descent across open fields and back through West Dean to the pub for lunch. Time permitting, we may be able to visit the local church.

After lunch at the Dean, we will drive about two miles to the car park at the The Trundle (overlooking Goodwood racecourse) for the afternoon walk (which will probably start about 14.15). The afternoon excursion will be more of a chance to admire the spectacular 360 degree views rather than a walk. The distance walked in the afternoon is unlikely to be much more than a mile.

You are welcome to join us for either or both of the walks.

Walk led by John (01444 870807 or 07902 212223 on the day) and Jan (07775 917624)
