Walk - Everyone Welcome (05/12/15) Saturday, 5th December 2015 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Plus Terry’s annual quiz!

Meet in good time for a 10.00 departure from the Royal Oak in Barcombe Cross .There is virtually no parking at the pub and it is recommended that you use the High Street car park, Barcombe Cross, by the village shop (Explorer Map 122: TQ 421158). Travelling east from Brighton on the A27, turn left for Lewes and pick up the A275 going north: just after Cooksbridge, fork right by the Rainbow Inn. After about a mile turn right and this road takes you to Barcombe Cross – the car park is on your right. The pub is about 100 yards away on the same side of the road.

The Royal Oak will be open from 9.30 and the landlord has kindly agreed that we may use their toilet facilities and tea or coffee will be served for those that want it. Lunch will be ordered before we leave.

This morning walk of about three miles takes us through a remarkable variety of habitats – meadows, rivers, woodland, farmland and a couple of lakes. There should be splendid views of the South Downs and, with any luck we should see a good number of birds.

Lunch is at the Royal Oak with various entertainments including the fun quiz (with prizes) – be prepared for a long, enjoyable stay at the pub! (not compulsory!!)

Walk led by Terry and Ro (Tel: 01798 813206 or 07720 891880 on the day).
