Walk - Everyone Welcome (14/11/15) Saturday, 14th November 2015 9:45 AM - 4:00 PM

Meet in good time for a 9.45 departure from the White Horse (Mare Hill Road, Pulborough, RH20 2DY www.whitehorsepulborough.co.uk, Explorer Map 121: TQ 063184). If travelling from Storrington to Pulborough on the A283 then the pub is on the right hand side of the road but you should park on the opposite side of the road where the main car park is located.

The White Horse should be open from 9.15 and the landlord has kindly agreed that we may use their toilet facilities and tea or coffee will be served for those that want it. Lunch will be ordered before we leave.

The morning walk is on the Arun flood plain and includes part of the RSPB’s Pulborough Brooks reserve. It is no more than three miles long which will give us plenty of time to look at the abundance of birdlife we expect to see.

After lunch at the White Horse, we will drive about a mile to the overflow car park at the Pulborough Brooks Visitor Centre for the afternoon walk (which will probably start about 14.15). The afternoon excursion will be more of a foray than a walk as we hope that there will be a plethora of fungi on Wiggonholt Common to be discovered and possibly identified: we will also visit the spectacular viewpoint that has been recently created there. The distance walked in the afternoon is unlikely to be much more than a mile.

You are welcome to join us for either or both of the walks.
