Summer Safari & Cream Tea - Burton Mill Pond (27/08/15) Thursday, 27th August 2015 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM

A general wildlife walk around this fabulous SWT reserve that takes you through a variety of habitats including old water mill and hammer ponds, birch woodland, heathland, alder carr, an acid bog known as the Black Hole and Parkland containing some majestic 400 year old sweet chestnut trees. We will be looking out for late summer dragonflies, butterflies and migrating birds but generally anything that moves and grows.

The walk will last about 2 hours and will be followed by a cream tea at Burton Mill. The proprietor requires a minimum of 15 people and so this safari is a combined event to include both walk and cream tea or alternative. The cost of the tea is £6.00, payable on the day by participants.

Burton Pond is located 3 miles south of Petworth and one mile east of Duncton off the A285. We will meet in the small car park next to Burton Mill. Grid Ref: SU 979180 and the nearest postcode: GU28 OJR.
