Why not get outdoors this winter by taking part in a Sussex Wildlife Trust event?
Feeling adventurous? Join our Night Navigation Course this February half term, and learn the essential skills of navigating the natural world at night. Explore the rare heathlands of Iping Common in darkness and listen out for the sounds of nocturnal wildlife. Suitable for 14+ years.
For something more relaxing, learn how to create woven baskets utilising green/brown willow and natural materials gathered from forest and down land walks and hedgerows during our two-day Woodland and Willow Basket Making Course.

The winter “pause” can allow us to experience a whole world of subtlety in the natural world. During our Winter Nature Connection Course, you will spend time in peaceful woodland at Woods Mill Nature Reserve, learning a number of simple practices that will deepen your sensitivity to the natural world around you.
If you prefer to stay inside, then tune into our free Winter Webinars: Bringing wildlife back to the Pevensey Levels – An ambitious landscape restoration project (17/02/25) and From Beavers to Pine Martens - Reintroducing species to Sussex (19/03/25).
Our popular events and courses are run by nature experts and experienced practitioners. If you would be interested in finding out about other courses we have running throughout the year, please visit our What’s On page.
