Spring into Summer: New Events & Courses
We've listened to what Sussex Wildlife Trust members and supporters want from events, and we're pleased to be offering an extra-wide variety for 2025 - from birdwatching and wildlife walks to wildlife photography and nature-inspired arts & crafts.
Birds and their songs
With the dawn chorus in full swing, now is the time to get to know the wonderful birdlife of Sussex. Join our Introduction to Birds of the South Downs and explore the iconic landscape of the Seven Sisters Country Park, or enjoy an Introduction to Bird Song at Wadhurst Park or experience eerie birdsong on an Evening with Nightjars at Old Lodge or Heyshott Common.
Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is famous for its birds, and the perfect place to get to grips with waders on our course: The Wading Birds of Rye Harbour and How to Identify Them. To see and hear a variety of birds around one of Sussex's best reedbeds, join our sunrise Walk with a Ranger – Early Birds at Castle Water. Our exclusive early summer Walk with a Ranger at Rye Harbour will reveal the birds, bees and butterflies of the beach reserve.

Taking action
Want to find out how you can support wildlife in your area? Then our Swift Ecology and Conservation Walk around Arundel is a must. Discover how you can monitor bee populations during our What Bees Need course at Seven Sisters Country Park or develop the skill of turning ocean plastics into beautiful objects during our Introduction to Eco-friendly crafts at Woods Mill.
Navigating landscapes
Looking to just get out and about in Nature? Develop map reading skills whilst enjoying the stunning views of the South Downs on our popular Open the Map course at Stanmer Park.

Comments
It’s good to see a walk around Arundel as one of the events. I m quite a distance from Woods Mill where so much seems to take place! I am in Rogate on the Sussex/Hampshire border. Could some courses and events be at more venues in mid Sussex or nearer?!
Many thanks

Sussex Wildlife Trust:
Thanks Elaine. We are always looking at how we can provide a better spread of events across Sussex. In the meantime, you might be interested in these not far from Rogate, at Heyshott Common.
