Rotherfield Eco Crafts & Gifts Christmas Market
Sam Lear and Becci Andrews are the organisers of Rotherfield Eco Crafts and Gifts Christmas Market. This year they have decided to use the raffle to fundraise for Sussex Wildlife Trust.
Sam tells us more about it:
"With nature under so much pressure, and Sussex Wildlife Trust working to protect local nature whilst being part of the wider movement to create real and substantial change, it was a clear winner as our charity choice. We are nature lovers of course and recognise the value that nature and wildlife give to people, ecological systems and the wider economy. We are also concerned about the wider climate crisis and the part that consumers can play to influence change; choosing to be a little greener in your Christmas shopping is a natural part of being more sustainable for us.
I have been a member of Sussex Wildlife Trust for some years and my happiest memories are of nature. I love to visit Old Lodge nature reserve on Ashdown Forest. The coast at Birling Gap and my local parkland (just a few streets from my home in Uckfield) are also very special places where I feel renewed and reconnected within minutes of stepping into them.

Becci spends a lot of time outside in the countryside, especially with her children. She loves watching them gain so much joy from visiting their local woods.
We both want to help create sustainable change for future generations."
At the Market, there will be household items made from reused and recycled materials, seasonal locally grown flowers and wreaths, stylish accessories or homewares made from upcycled materials, and natural, vegan and carbon neutral skincare and cosmetics, as well as a pop-up café selling Fairtrade items.
