Restore Nature Now

Henri Brocklebank, Director of Conservation at Sussex Wildlife Trust is calling on people living in Sussex to join Trust staff and members to ‘March for Nature’ on Saturday 22 June 2024. Thousands of people will unite for nature in the centre of London for the largest ever gathering of nature lovers at the Restore Nature Now! march.

The event is backed by over 250 nature, wildlife and climate groups – including The Wildlife Trusts, as well as high-profile campaigners such Chris Packham, Liz Bonnin, and Dr Amir Khan.

With the UK already on track for another record-breaking year of temperatures, added to 1 in 6 species at risk of extinction, there has never been a more important moment for politicians to understand how much nature matters.

The march will be legal, peaceful and inclusive. There will be family-friendly performance art, sculptures, and singing. Sussex Wildlife Trust will rally in Park Lane at 11.30am and invite supporters to make themselves known and join the group.

Sussex Wildlife Trust is calling on all political parties to commit to tackle the nature and climate crises by:

  • Bringing back the UK’s lost wildlife
  • Tackling the climate emergency
  • Addressing river pollution and water scarcity
  • Funding wildlife-friendly farming
  • Enabling healthy communities

Henri Brocklebank, Director of Conservation at Sussex Wildlife Trust said,

"Saturday 22nd of June will see the largest-ever gathering of wildlife lovers, standing side-by-side to tell politicians they must take the nature and climate crises seriously. Bringing back the UK’s lost wildlife, cleaning-up rivers, funding nature-friendly farming and creating better homes for wildlife will help us adapt to climate change as well as boost out own health and our economy. Please join us on the big day to make your voice heard too."

Chris Packham, TV Broadcaster and Wildlife Campaigner, added,

"As conservationists and environmental groups, we must accept that the dire state of nature- both in the UK and globally- has happened on our watch. Ticking a box, signing a petition, sharing a post- it’s simply not enough when we are facing the collapse of our living systems."
