Osprey on the Ouse

An osprey has been hunting along the Ouse for the past few days.

Ospreys breed in Northern Britain and (mostly) Northern Europe and most migrate south to below equatorial Africa each Autumn. Each year some pass through Sussex and can be seen along rivers and reservoirs.

The pale feathers on its back show that this is a young osprey.
