Tell us a bit about yourself and Made By Me By the Sea.
I'm based in Worthing, West Sussex. As a digital artist, I take great joy in creatively reviving vintage architecture, especially historic buildings that have been neglected—for example, Brighton’s Madeira Terrace, London’s Art Deco tube stations and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wales. My work extends to capturing the beauty of our local landscapes with an Art Deco flair, creating patterns and textiles that inspire and connect people with the natural world around them.

Tell us about the Sussex Flower Power designs.
The Sussex Flower Power collection was inspired by a desire to illuminate a lesser-known aspect of our local heritage—the Round Headed Rampion [read more about it here], also the namesake for the Rampion windfarm. Celebrated as the Pride of Sussex, this wildflower is a vital part of our natural heritage. To further personalise this connection, I named the Pyramidal Orchid 'Sussex Pyramid' and Yarrow 'Sussex Healer,' reflecting their special roles in Sussex's botanical landscape. My goal was to capture their subtle beauty in an Art Deco style, infusing each piece with timeless elegance and highlighting their unique stories. These flower illustrations also have an architectural ‘feel’ and compliment my architectural collections.
Thank you so much for fundraising for the Trust. What prompted you to start doing that?
Although I'm fortunate to live opposite the sea and enjoy a stunning sea view, my affection for Sussex's broader landscapes and wildlife runs deep. I admit, I'm a bit of a secret tree hugger—I'm captivated by the smells, the textures, the expansiveness, and the vibrant energy of the countryside. Partnering with the Sussex Wildlife Trust was a natural step for me; it allows me to give back to the environment that not only inspires my creative energy but also strengthens the community's bond with nature. Supporting the Trust’s conservation efforts is a privilege that helps preserve the beauty and vitality of our region, and I am deeply committed to this cause.
