Heathland Dragonflies at Stedham and Iping Commons

As part of the Heathland Sculpture Trail that connects the heathlands within the South Downs National Park, a sculpture dedicated to the specialist heathland dragonflies has been erected at Stedham Common. The sculpture that was inspired by the wings of the aerobatic dragonflies sits on the central path through the Common. There are several dragonflies and damselflies that are restricted to waterbodies found within heathlands and bogs and several of them can be found at Stedham and Iping Commons. Reserves Ecologist Glenn Norris talked to the South Downs National Park about some of these specialities that can be found there
