Crossed Finger Selfie Day

It’s Crossed Finger Selfie Day!

Today, we’d like to say a huge thank you to National Lottery players, they fund so many amazing heritage projects across the UK including Wild Coast Sussex. #ThanksToYou Sophie undertook a three month internship with the project this year. Here’s what she had to say.

"The Wild Coast Sussex internship was a great introduction to community engagement and why it is so important for the future of local wildlife in Sussex. The team are incredibly enthusiastic about the project, and their enthusiasm is infectious. I felt welcome from my very first day, and was given ample opportunity to take on exciting responsibilities, including planning an event for young adults.

It was a brilliant way to begin my career having just finished my master’s degree, and I would encourage all who are passionate about the ocean and the marine life of Sussex to apply. You won’t regret it!"

The Wild Coast Sussex project will be hiring two more interns next year so make sure to keep an eye out on social media for those opportunities when they come up! :)

At Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, National Lottery players have helped to support many of our projects through the National Lottery Heritage Fund, making it possible for heritage trainees such as Shannon to join our Rye Harbour Nature Reserve team.
