Could you be a trustee?
Trustees play a vital role in all aspects of our work. Giving their time for free, like all our volunteers, our trustees bring the necessary skills and experience to oversee the strategic development and direction of Sussex Wildlife Trust. They take all decisions on matters of Trust policy.
We are currently seeking to recruit trustees and would welcome expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds who have a passion for wildlife and an interest in wanting to help the Sussex Wildlife Trust make a real difference in its work to protect, conserve and expand the natural beauty of Sussex.
We are particularly interested in people with specific interest and knowledge in either of the following:
- Experience/knowledge/passion in either conservation, ecology, land management or natural history
- Experience/knowledge in digital transformation and change management
We asked asked Danny Harvey, who recently joined us as a trustee, what attracted her to the role.
"I am passionate about the natural world and wanted to contribute to the conservation and recovery of wildlife and biodiversity in the area where I live. I hope that becoming a trustee of Sussex Wildlife Trust will enable me to do that, in my case by bringing my experience in the charity sector and sustainable development to the Board. The Board are super welcoming and the induction process was really thorough. The highlight for me is the deep dive into an aspect of the Trust’s work that we have each Board meeting, last time we learnt about the landscape recovery project at Pevensey levels. It makes me feel really connected to the work of the Trust."
