Two youngsters from Sussex have tied for first place in a wildlife colouring competition organised by the Sussex Wildlife Trust.
Matilda Chant aged 6, from Heene Way, Worthing and Hayden Furner, aged 8, from Potters Lane, Lewes have both won a ceramic badger made by local sculptor Helen Hodson, for their classroom nature table.
As an added bonus, t-shirt manufacturers Rapanui, who support the work of the Sussex Wildlife Trust, used both children’s designs in their range of t-shirts.
Both Matilda and Hayden are members of Wildlife Watch (the Trust’s junior members club). Matilda is a pupil at Heene CE Primary School in Worthing and Hayden attends Western Road County Primary School in Lewes. They both coloured in pictures of ‘Stanley the Snail’ and their winning entries were chosen from scores of pictures sent in by Watch members from all over Sussex.
