A new fence is being erected around the perimeter of New Piece, Burton and Chingford Ponds nature reserve. This will enable us to manage the habitat better for wildlife by grazing with hardy cattle at certain times of year. Cattle grazing creates more varied vegetation and controls invasive plants.
Access will be maintained with gates along the paths.
Work will be carried out from mid-November until late December. and will entail some tree and scrub clearance along the fence line.
Follow warning signs while the work is being completed. We apologise for any inconvenience.
The work is being grant funded by the Countryside Stewardship scheme
