Sussex ShoreSearch is looking for volunteers

Join Sussex Wildlife Trust to help identify and record animals, plants and habitats at Saltdean Beach near Brighton on Monday 28 September, between 4:00pm – 6:00 pm. Marine Officer Olle Åkesson is running a Sussex Shoresearch event and is looking for volunteers to help him discover exactly what marine life is living there.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to get outdoors, learn about the marine environment and help look after your local coastline. Wear suitable clothes for sweeping shallow water with nets and investigating rockpools.

Sussex ShoreSearch volunteers will count intertidal wildlife such as starfish, anemones, oysters and mussels and use this information to help safeguard these and many other marine creatures.

Everyone is welcome, you don’t need to have any knowledge of marine life, but please contact Olle to let him know you are coming. Meet in the car park on Saltdean Park Road, next to Saltdean Lido – postcode: BN2 8SP.

If you would like to come along, please contact Olle Åkesson, Sussex Wildlife Trust Marine Officer tel: 01273 497572 or contact Olle via our ShoreSearch page
