Look for departing summer visitors such as warblers and wagtails and winter visitors arriving such as ducks and waders.

Wednesday 15 September 10am to 12noon
Join one of our monthly litter picks on the third Wednesday of each month. Help to remove plastics and other litter from the marine environment, spot some wildlife and have a chat with other volunteer litter heroes!
This month we will also be surveying the litter collected, to inform the Marine Conservation Society.
Litter pickers and bags provided, please bring gloves if you have them.

Nature Babies
Wednesdays 15 / 22 / 29 September / 6 October 1.30 to 2.30pm
Introduce your baby to the great outdoors with our new nature-based baby group. Lots of sensory experiences for little ones, singing and stories, plus a stroll around the reserve (bring buggies or carriers) and a chance to meet other families.
Weekly sessions are themed around wildlife and the changing seasons. Suitable for babies aged 3 months–18 months.

Walk with a Warden

September is a good time to spot lots of birds as our summer visitors are leaving, and winter birds are arriving. We will walk around the saltmarsh and beach to look for seabirds, ducks and waders refuelling on the pools and perhaps some raptors hunting them.

Drop in to the Gooders hide between the car park and the sea where there will be guides stationed throughout the day to show you the birds. Binoculars, telescopes and spotter sheets available for you to use.

A deep dive into the mud at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve via a circular walk looking at the function, health and success of saltmarsh regeneration

Monthly sessions for teenagers to take action to protect and learn about local wildlife. Identify and learn about different plants and animals, carry out practical conservation tasks to improve habitats, survey and monitor wildlife, have a go at country crafts and nature photography. Bring a packed lunch.
Suitable for 12 - 16 year olds. Parents do not accompany.
