*Update: almost 30,000 message have been sent to MPs so far. Let's keep them coming!*

The new Planning and Infrastructure Bill has reached the final stages of debate before becoming law. And something important has happened.

The Bill moved into the House of Lords, where peers made a major intervention and voted for a new amendment to the Bill’s text, known as Amendment 130.

Ask your MP to keep Amendment 130

Amendment 130 provides crucial safeguards to stop development from destroying legally protected wildlife and wild places.

This will help keep vital nature protections firmly in place.

But that won’t happen unless MPs vote to keep this critical amendment when the Bill returns to the House of Commons in the next few days.

Please, make sure your MP votes to keep Amendment 130 in the Bill.

With your support, The Wildlife Trusts have worked hard to limit the damage this Bill will have on wildlife and wild spaces.

At Sussex Wildlife Trust, we have been contacting all our local MPs to urge them to retain these safeguards - and the more constituents' voices they hear in support of this the better.

So, please take action today by contacting your local MP with a very simple message.

Ask your MP to keep Amendment 130

Thank you for showing your support for wildlife in Sussex.

Together, we can set a positive direction for how we treat nature in our county, and our country.

Protecting our wild places and species is an absolute no brainer. We are at s critical stage in nature and climate change and it is preposterous that any powerful, influential group should influence to the detriment of nature

I think we really need the preservations that exist for wildlife. We need new homes but balanced with not at the expense of our current wildlife protections

The lords clearly have fingers in some pies. Ammendment 130 is a no brainer.

Completely support this statement and think in uk we should publish more information for the public on how humans and developments are destroying our beautiful environment. Currently in New Zealand and so impressed by their approach to protecting their beautiful countryside
