Sussex Wildlife Trust alongside the Woodland Trust, RSPB, CPRE and Sussex Ornithological Society have sent this open letter to Center Parcs asking them again to reconsider the location for next possible Center Parcs.

In summer 2021, Center Parcs announced they would be progressing plans for a new holiday village at Oldhouse Warren, an ancient woodland near Crawley in West Sussex. Ancient woodland is an irreplaceable habitat that is highly protected, so we are extremely concerned about these proposals and have been urging Center Parcs to reconsider and look for an alternative, more suitable location.

Having written previously to Center Parcs we were concerned that their response failed to recognise the gravity of the proposals on irreplaceable habitats in Sussex. So we write again asking them to explain why a company that prides itself on environmental credentials would consider such damaging proposal.
