A year in numbers
By Debbie Chalmers
Membership Manager
The Sussex Wildlife Trust has achieved a huge amount for local wildlife last year and without the support of our members and volunteers this would not have been possible.
You might be surprised at the range of projects our members have helped us achieve, from caring for our 600 strong flock of rare breed sheep who graze our nature reserves to encourage wild flowers, to the exciting discovery of a new species of bee found in Sussex. We welcomed 9,000 children to our education centres and joined forces with the NHS to run mental-health wellbeing courses. Our volunteers planted over a kilometre of hedge line vital to protect a myriad of species from butterflies to bats, and the discovery of cuttlefish eggs during a marine survey caused great excitement when we were able to hatch them and return them to the wild.
We are so fortunate to be able to count on your support - here's to an equally impressive year ahead.
