Events Volunteer - Rye

Overview of the role:
Our events Volunteers are a vital part of the Discovery Centre and reserve, helping to ensure every event runs seamlessly. From preparing spaces and laying out refreshments to assisting with online administration and supporting guided walks, their contributions are varied and invaluable. By joining our volunteer team, you’ll help create enjoyable and memorable experiences for all our visitors.
Type of tasks you will be involved with:
Setting up and clearing away chairs, tables, and refreshments, responding to enquiries in person and online, providing administrative support, taking event photographs, back marking outdoor groups, checking attendee lists, supporting the overall smooth running of events
Experience/Skills Required:
A friendly and helpful manner. Confident when talking with the public. An enthusiasm for our events programme, wildlife and the local area. Willing to undertake training such as first aid, safeguarding and GDPR. Confident with physical tasks. Fostering a positive and inclusive approach to staff, visitors and other volunteers
Days/Times we would like you to be available:
Monday to Sunday: ad hoc times, according to specific events. We are especially keen to recruit volunteers to support our busy weekends and during seasonal holidays.
