Conservation Volunteer - as a part of a work party - various Nature Reserves

Overview of the role:
Work parties undertake conservation tasks under the guidance of a group leader or a member of staff. Volunteers can travel to the reserves independently or there may be a central pick up point.
Type of tasks you will be involved with:
These tasks might include, scrub clearance, removal of invasive species or path clearance.
Experience/Skills Required:
Volunteers must be between the ages of 18 and 85, should have a reasonable level of physical fitness and ideally some interest in wildlife and conservation. Experience is not required. All volunteers will be asked to comply under health and safety regulations.
Days/Times we would like you to be available:
Most of our groups are currently at capacity; however we do have spaces in one or two. Please look at the status in the following list. East Sussex Reserves Hit Squad - Tuesdays (currently full) ~ West Sussex Reserves Hit Squads - Wednesdays or Thursdays (currently full) ~ Saturday Hit Squad - various reserves across Sussex, twice per month (enquiries welcome) ~ Seaford Head group - Thursdays once a month (currently full) ~ Ebernoe Common - monthly on Tuesdays (full) / Ebernoe Common monthly Saturday group (full) ~ Levin Down - monthly on Sunday mornings (enquiries welcome)~ Malling Down - monthly on Sunday mornings (available) ~ Marline, Filsham + Flatropers ~ Hastings area Sunday group (enquiries welcome) Thursday group (spaces) ~ Selwyns Woods - weekly on Thursdays (enquiries welcome) ~ West Dean Woods - Mondays + Thursdays (currently full)~ Woods Mill Nature Reserve Henfield - Fridays (currently full)
Benefits to volunteer & possible training opportunities:
You need to wear old clothes, suitable footwear, bring food and drink and plenty of enthusiasm. Tools, training and gloves are provided, although you may wish to bring your own pair of gardening gloves. Travel expenses can be claimed by advanced agreement.

How to apply
Complete the application form using the Application form. Please state Conservation Volunteer - as part of a Work Party and name the group you wish to join as the role. If you request to join a group that is currently full we will offer to keep your name on a waiting list.
