A type of blenny that can be commonly seen hiding in rockpools under seaweed or even pier pilings.
How to identify:
<p>Shanny’s have a characteristic head with a rounded forehead. They have one continuous fin running down their back (the dorsal fin).</p>Where:
Found all round the UK.
Fantastic facts:
If stranded out of water at low tide, shannies can survive by hiding beneath rocks and seaweed and aborbing oxygen from the air through their skin.
