A compressed bodied fish with large spines. Very commonly caught and eaten in the UK. They have a projectile mouth they use to catch fish. They are preyed on by sharks.

Fantastic facts:
John Dory have a large dark ‘eye spot’ on the side of their bodies. This spot confuses the John Dory’s prey, making it easier for them to catch it.
