Spider crabs have much longer legs than normal crabs, which allows them to walk forwards as well as sideways.

How to identify:

<p>A triangular shaped body covered in spines. Two horns stick out between the eyes.</p>

Where:

Found along the western and southern coasts of England and Wales.

Fantastic facts:

These crabs change their diets throughout the year. They eat seaweed and shellfish in the winter, and sea urchins and sea cucumbers in the summer.
