About:

One of our largest seabirds, with a wingspan of almost 2 metres. Nests in large colonies at a handful of places, mostly Scottish islands but also single sites in Wales, north east England and small numbers in the Channel Islands.

How to identify:

<p>Easily identified: a big white bird with black wing tips and a yellowish head.</p>

Where:

Nests on coastal cliffs around the north of Britain. Can be seen around most of our coasts during migration.

Fantastic facts:

70% of the world’s Gannet population, more than 200,000 pairs, nests around the coasts of Great Britain.
