About:

These anemones are found on the rocky shore and retract their tentacles when disturbed out when the tide goes out.

How to identify:

<p>Similar to the beadlet anemone, but tends to grow to a larger size. They are dark red in colour with flecks of green across the column, resembling a strawberry (giving it it's common name).</p>

Where:

Found on the mid to lower rocky shore, usually in a shaded place.

Fantastic facts:

Anemones spend most of their lives attached to a rock. They can de-attach themselves and move if conditions change. When they do, they are restricted to a speed of between 7.5 and 10 cm an hour!
