About:

This impressive anemone is frequently spotted by Sussex divers. Dahlias are predatory animals which prey on prawns and fish.

How to identify:

<p>Dahlias can be observed in a number of different colour variations but usually have distinctive colour banding on their tentacles. They are quite sturdy and squat and can be covered in warts.</p>

Where:

Usually a sub-tidal species but can occasionally be found in rock pools.

Fantastic facts:

When the tentacles are retracted, the beautiful Dahlia anemone is camouflaged by the warts and pieces of sand and shell stuck to the body.
