Future management of Ditching Beacon
We are working with local communities and landowners to connect people with nature and address challenges facing the Sussex Downs, in order to protect this fragile chalk grassland landscape for future generations.
As part of this project, Sussex Wildlife Trust is considering how to improve Ditchling Beacon for people and wildlife. Before coming to any conclusions, we are anxious to get the views of people and organisations that value the site as an important greenspace or have a specialist interest in its wildlife, history, status as common land or other features. A consultation took place, ending in January 2021.
