Animals of Friston Forest - (Maximum 60 pupils)
Spend a day in Friston Forest with your class and give them the opportunity to explore this lovely woodland area with its range of different habitats. As the group find out about the wildlife that lives here they will discover how different creatures and plants adapt to a particular habitat, and how they interact with each other. Games and activities, including pond dipping and bug hunting, provide a hands-on experience that the children will remember.
Itinerary Outline:
10am Arrival – coach to park in the Forest Car Park (no road crossings)
10:15am Toilet stop /Bags and lunch are stored safely in our Education Barn
10:30am What animals live of the edge of our woodlands – what is a wildlife corridor?
11:15am How to survive in the woods! – discover the creatures living from the roots to the canopy
12 midday Lunch in the Barn / Toilet stop
12:30pm Pond Dipping – a lot more than just tadpoles!
1:20pm Get closer to the minibeasts and learn all about them with our experts!
2:15pm Collect belongings / Toilet stop
2:30pm Coaches depart
Green Shoots - (Maximum 60 pupils)
Welcome to the amazing world of plants. What plant have I found? Which part of the plant is this? What does it need to grow? Why does it grow here and not over there? Join us to answer some of the questions we hope your children will ask as we explore the plant life in and around Friston Forest.

11am Play the ‘Growing game!’ you are seed.. will you survive!?
11:20am Let’s go on a Tree Safari! – learn the facts and finds of the British woodlands
12 midday Lunch in the Barn / Toilet stop
12:30pm Sensory Games, investigations and hands on planting with our Wildlife experts!
2:15pm Collect belongings / Toilet stop
2:30pm Coaches depart
Wild Day in the Woods - (Maximum 60 pupils)
Join us for an adventure in the woods. The children will get the opportunity to experience fire-lighting, shelter building and are encouraged to use tools to make things to take home with them as a memory of their day in the woods.
This programme can incorporate specific topics and curriculum areas.
Coaches can now park in the Forest Car Park – exclusively for Sussex Wildlife Trust days out only! We are only 10 minutes away from our Education Barn and our Toilet Block at any time during the day.

2pm Let’s leave no trace! Put the fire out as a group ceremony!
