Foundation Stage Programmes

Full day 10.00am – 2.30pm. Age 4-5 years. (Maximum 60 pupils)

Wild and Wonderful

This is a programme of discovery about animals and plants, and where they like to live. Heading off with a sense of adventure, children will investigate a range of different habitats. They encounter woodland plants and hunt out the mini-beasts living in the leaf litter and creatures from the pond.  

Coaches can now park in the Forest Car Park – exclusively for Sussex Wildlife Trust days out only!  We are only 10 minutes away from our Education Barn and our Toilet Block at any time during the day.

Itinerary outline:

10am                   Arrival – coach to park in the Forest Car Park   (no road crossings)

10:15am            Toilet stop /Bags and lunch are stored safely in our Education Barn

10:30am            Off to the meadow! explore the animals that live in our chalk grassland

11:15am            Let’s go on a Tree Safari! who lives in the woods and how do they survive?

12 midday        Lunch in the Barn / Toilet stop

12:30pm            Pond Dipping

1:20pm               Search for the minibeasts with our experts!

2:15pm               Collect belongings / Toilet stop

2:30pm               Coaches depart

 

Wild Day in the Woods

Join us for an adventure in the woods. The children will get the opportunity to experience fire-lighting, shelter building and are encouraged to use tools to make things to take home with them as a memory of their day in the woods.

10:30am            Learn the skills to successfully light a fire together – how exciting!

11:15am            Shelter Building – what do we need to survive?

12 midday        Lunch in the Barn / Toilet stop

12:30pm            Woodland Crafts and Activities based on Forest School teachings

2pm                      Let’s leave no trace!  Put the fire out as a group ceremony!   

2:15pm               Collect belongings / Toilet stop

2:30pm               Coaches depart
