On 8 June 1968 Woods Mill nature reserve opened its doors to the public. Over the past 50 years our reserve has been visited by thousands and thousands of people of all ages. Throughout 2018 and into 2019 we are celebrating half a century of engaging and inspiring the public at Woods Mill and we’d like to invite you to come along and join us. Visit the Woods Mill at 50 webpages to find out more.
Through generous support from ScottishPower Foundation we will be offering a busy programme of wildlife walks, talks and training events giving you the chance to learn more and enjoy Woods Mill. These ‘Woods Mill at 50’ events are free and everyone is welcome. The funding from ScottishPower Foundation will also pay for improvements to the reserve over the autumn and winter.
If you’d like to learn more about the wildlife on the reserve look at our diary of special Woods Mill at 50 wildlife walks and events.
As part of the 50 anniversary, we have set up a camera to follow the progress of a pair of kestrels live from Woods Mill. Visit the Woods Mill Kestrel Cam here.
