It is home to a range of wildlife including urban Foxes and Badgers. The large mature trees, although decimated in the storm of 1987, attract birds including the Great Spotted Woodpecker and occasionally Firecrest.

The rough bark of the trees and the Ivy growing up the trunks provide a valuable roost for bats including Common Pipistrelle. In mid-winter, the plant Stinking Hellebore can be seen flowering here.
