Verse in the Valley
Sussex Wildlife Trust is pleased to welcome Jan Wilkins as a guest blogger this Summer. Jan is a Bexhill poet, writing as Jan Hedger.
Welcome to my new blog! I will be with you for the summer period - if we have one! In this time my blog hopes to capture all those, of you, who value encouraging our children and young people out into our green spaces and coastline.
I am running a Creative Countryside Children’s Poetry Competition in support and promotion of the newly re-named Combe Valley Country Park
The poetry submitted is to be about the Park, its nature and wildlife, right down to the sea-shore - as well as involving local children, we want to invite children from all over the Sussex to join in this competition - with very exciting prizes!
So parents bring your children and children bring your parents to visit our gem of diversity we have here in our green and coastal park!
A perfect opportunity is to come to our Family Fun Day on July 21st, where there will be many activities to join in with and lots more. See our events diary for other exciting events planned for this year.
Or just come along and discover the park for yourself!
Poetry can be a scary word - but it doesn’t have to be like that!
From out of date to bang up to date with ‘Rap’- poetry can be fun, fun, fun!
Follow my blogs to for updates and get hints and tips along the way!
Let’s celebrate our green spaces, with our children and young people - they are the future!
