    Despite the fairly dreadful weather during February, this month did see several signs of the oncoming spring on the reserve.

    It was good to see a Smew on the reserve this month, with a ‘redhead’ (i.e. female or immature) present on the Quarry from the 9th until the end of the month.

    This year I have been carrying out a survey of the invertebrates of the saline lagoons at Rye Harbour and am currently in the process of identifying the samples collected during the summer.
