  • 16.09.13 A late summer stroll to Oxteddle Bottom

    Today's walk took us up to Oxteddle Bottom to look at the landscape and the mini-landscapes created on the downland by yellow meadow ants (the subject of my article this month in Viva Lewes). The sun mostly shone and encouraged some activity from the last of this year's butterflies. Adonis

  • 07.09.13 Bringing the Downs to the Town

    As part of the DownTown Lewes project we gathered some downland seeds at the weekend which we will later use to plant at sites in Lewes. In the photo; field scabious, agrimony, yellow rattle, greater knapweed, bird's foot trefoil, small scabious.Our next seed gathering evening is on September 19th.
