30.11.14 'Tis the season to be jelly

Out and about in the woods and on the Downs over the weekend I noticed a lot of jelly fungi growing on branches and stumps. On the South Downs there was lots of yellow brain on the gorse branches.Yellow brain

One of my fungi books describes it as 'brain-shaped', the other book describes it as 'comprising of flabby, soft lobes and folds'. Pretty much sums it up.
