The warm weekend encouraged more wildlife to emerge. Chris emailed to report:
"In my garden this weekend..... small tortoiseshell & brimstone butterflies and bumblebee queens"
Crispin also reported a small tortoiseshell from Kingston.
Elsewhere around Lewes brimstones, peacocks, red admirals and small tortoiseshells were coming out of hibernation and there were early reports of green tiger beetles.
Adders have started to emerge too and were photographed in woodlands near the town. The incredible markings on the adder's body camouflaging it perfectly against a background of dead bracken.
