The Living Seas Officer is a member of the Conservation, Policy and Evidence team, based at Woods Mill near Henfield. This varied role offers opportunity to oversee the Trust’s marine conservation work, which includes running citizen science programmes, supporting partnership projects, and working on strategy / policy work in the marine environment. The post-holder will need to have a good knowledge of local marine and coastal ecology, understanding of ecological survey techniques, and be able to communicate to a variety of audiences.
You will have knowledge and understanding of marine conservation issues and a good knowledge of local marine and coastal ecology. The applicant should be able to work independently with good time management and organisational skills, and must also be able to manage and coordinate volunteers.
A driving licence is essential as regular travel across Sussex will be required. You must be prepared to travel across Sussex on a regular basis, sometimes outside core hours, and spend time at the coast in all weathers.
